Chocolate Peanut Butter Butterscotch Bird Nest Recipe
Who doesn’t love a sweet little bird nest treat for Easter!? These chocolate peanut butter butterscotch bird nests were a hit at my house and I wanted to share them with all of you! This recipe was inspired by the Curvy Carrot. I just added my own little twist to try and make it just a teensy bit healthier by using bran cereal instead of fried chow mein noodles!
Ingredients
- 6 oz. Semi-Sweet chocolate chips
- 6 oz. Butterscotch chips
- 1 cup Creamy peanut butter
- 3 cups All-Bran cereal
- 36 Mini Cadbury eggs
Instructions
- Spray your cupcake tins well or wipe with butter on a paper towel, make sure all surfaces are covered to aid in easy release from pan.
- Melt chocolate and butterscotch chips on low heat or in microwave, 30 seconds at a time, stirring between.
- Stir in peanut butter until smooth.
- Add cereal and stir with large spoon until cereal is fully coated. If the mixture appears too wet, stir in a little more dry cereal.
- Spoon into cupcake tins and press down the middle, building up the sides to create the nest shape.
- Cover and place in fridge. Nests can be made ahead and stored for up to 7 days or removed from pan after 15 minutes of cooling.
- Place 3 Cadbury mini-eggs in each nest right before serving.
- These will get your fingers sticky. I make my children eat them out of custard cups with a spoon!
- Enjoy!
